14th edition of the G20 Summit was held in Osaka. The leaders of the G-20 agreed to make united efforts to address major global economic challenges and work together to foster global economic growth while harnessing the power of technological innovation and digitization. During the summit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted issues including global economy and finance, open and resilient finance system, fight against corruption, vision for women empowerment, agriculture, global health, climate change and clean energy. At the summit, United States and China agreed to resume trade negotiations, easing a protracted row that has fuelled a global economic slowdown. After meeting between US President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping, Washington also agreed on not imposing additional tariffs on Chinese imports. 19 members of the G20, without the United States, also agreed to the “irreversibility” of the Paris climate deal and pledged its full implementation, after two days of talks.
